Class Description
Yin and Yang are Taoist concepts which describe the two relative qualities present in all things. Yin is more internal, passive, cooling. Yang is more external, dynamic, warming. When practiced together, they help us to create balance. With a yin yang yoga class, we combine a more dynamic style of vinyasa yoga with some passive, slower yin poses.
The Yin Yang Yoga class may start with yin yoga to calm the mind and to work on the joints before the muscles are warm. Alternatively, the class may start more dynamically (yang) and end with longer held poses to relax and calm the nervous system. The sequencing of the class can have a powerful effect on your energy levels and how you feel after class.
This class is suitable for all levels. Your instructor will offer different variations of poses so that everyone can join in. If you want both time for movement as well as stillness, then this class is for you.
